The State of Things
Cure
No cure exists for COVID-19 as of this time.
Treatment
Treatment consists of addressing symptoms and giving help breathing with ventilators.
Strategy
The current strategy is to slow down the rate of infection. This is what is being called “flattening the curve.” If fewer people get sick at the same time, the hospitals and health care system can take care of everybody. If we all get sick at once, some people will be left without help because there won’t be enough beds and ventilators to go around.
